Obama Headlines 25th Essence Music Festival in New Orleans

One of the Obama's headlined the 25th Essence Festival in New Orleans over the weekend, and no, it wasn't Malia making another festival appearance at Coachella!

Over the past 25 years, Essence has evolved into more than just a concert. In fact, just last week I read that over the years, Essence Festival has contributed over $4 billion to the state's economy.

The stars were out for this milestone event with artists like Missy Elliot, Mary J. Blige, Nas, Biz Markie, Lil Jon, Pharrel Williams, Timbaland and the one and only former First Lady Michelle Obama, who rocked a gorgeous blue sequin jumpsuit for a one-on-one interview with journalist Gayle King. Not only did Michelle have a fantastic message about finding a partner you love and respect, someone who is your equal and always wants to you to win, taking the high road, and her book, I Am Becoming. But the real highlight of the interview was the fact that she proudly rocked her hair natural and curly.
