Ozzy Osbourne’s Mistress Michelle Pugh Sues Kelly Osbourne For Defamation
While it's an understandable knee-jerk reaction to come to the defense of one's parents, perhaps Kelly Osbourne should think it thoroughly through next time she puts someone on blast on Twitter in front of millions of followers, because it just might cost her a lawsuit.
Such is the case with Michelle Pugh, Ozzy Osbourne's extramarital affair partner, who is now reportedly suing his daughter for defamation. According to the New York Daily News, the celebrity hairstylist filed a suit on Wednesday (August 3) in Los Angeles against the TV personality claiming that she defamed Pugh.
The filing is a response to tweets Osbourne posted back in May, particularly a since-deleted message that shared the hairdresser's unlisted private phone number and suggested that "anyone looking for cheap chunky LOW-lights, a blow out and a b***job" call Pugh. The suit claims that the message was re-tweeted over 1,500 times.
In another tweet, Osbourne implied that Pugh's relationship with her "almost 70" father, who the hairstylist met in September 2011, could potentially be considered "elder abuse."
Speaking to PEOPLE, Pugh, who said she sent a cease and desist letter to Osbourne's daughter in May, explained, "[Kelly] went on a Twitter rampage, and she started getting responses the night that she tweeted my number out... I am a private individual. I am not a celebrity. My private life is off limits."
"Not only have they stated their speculation, but they have come out and attacked me, berated me, and publicly shamed me on a global scale," she added. "Once it is on the Internet, it is out there for the whole world to see and it is always going to be there... The point is you cannot violate someone's privacy like that."
Obtained by the Daily News, the court documents assert that Osbourne's tweets resulted in a "rash of mass cyber-bullying" against Pugh, who is also suing for emotional distress and public disclosure of private information.
"Not only had plaintiff begun to be slut-shamed, bullied and harassed for allegedly breaking up a marriage, but was wrongfully accused of a crime that further held her up to ridicule, hate and shame. No less than 4.07 million persons were given the opportunity to communicate this hate and harassment..." the lawsuit states.
The suit continues: "Since having her private blocked phone number publicly released, Plaintiff has had to obtain a new phone number and actively dispel false rumors of termination from her salon due to her relationship with Ozzy, as framed by Kelly."
