The internet is currently losing their minds over a high school football player in Louisiana. For the first time this season, the viral football player from Louisiana isn't named "Manning".

Here's why the internet is losing their mind over Homer High School senior lineman Walteze Champ...

Pictures like that of Champ have been popping up all over online. The reactions have been crazy. The senior guard/defensive lineman for the Homer Pelicans is listed at 6'0 and 230 pounds. He plays for the defending state champions in their division, and has won Player of the Week awards along the way in his high school career, so you might expect major colleges to be beating down his door.

But even with his viral status, he doesn't seem to be locking a lot in. Somehow, you can't find his name listed by ESPN in their top football recruits for 2023, and he doesn't seem to appear on any of the countless college football recruiting sites.

This is wild, since he lists his GPA online as a 3.5 and pushes freaking cars for workouts...

There are rumors online, all over comments sections, that he's being recruited by "Power 5" coaches and programs, but there's no evidence of that online. Champ himself has been posting about some offers on his Twitter page, including Westminster College & Anna Maria College, but nothing from any "Power 5" programs.

Just can't figure out how he's not getting offers from every school in the state right now. Even if he might not be the greatest football player in the world, the look and online success mean a lot in today's college football world. Just because he may not end up being a starting player on your offense or defense, doesn't mean that his recruiting wouldn't help your program. Sometimes the amount of coverage you get from signing a guy like this can't be matched with any amount of "official visits"...

Put this guy on the social media page for Louisiana Tech, or UL-Monroe, and see the response. What about a brand new program like Centenary College in Shreveport? They're launching a program from the ground up, and this viral sensation could be the new face of the program!
