Original Story: Shreveport Police Cpl. Marcus Hines says a man was shot in front of a home in the 1200 Block of East Washington Street in Shreveport today. The shooting happened just after 3pm today, when it appears the two had a dispute over a parking situation.

Hines says both the victim and suspect are male, and the shooting took place in front of the suspect's residence. He added that the family of the victim had just returned home after a funeral.

During a press conference Hines referred to the situation as "senseless" and called the suspect a "fool". He described the scenario by saying that after family members returned from a funeral, the suspect came out of his home armed, and shot the victim while arguing over parking.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The victim is said to have life threatening injuries.
