Last week, headlines were made as authorities started their investigation surrounding a body found inside a Louisiana fast food restaurant's freezer. That story was based around the Arby's on on East Admiral Doyle Drive in New Iberia, where a female's body was discovered inside their freezer.

Police released few details that night, which is understandable. They have since updated more details on the situation through their social media account:

That release said:

"On Thursday, May 11, 2023, at approximately 6:19 p.m., the New Iberia Police Department (N.I.P.D.) received a report of a deceased person located in the freezer at Arby’s Restaurant (1120 East Admiral Doyle Drive).

Officers and Acadian Ambulance were dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival, Officers located a female inside a walk-in freezer, showing no signs of life. The Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and pronounced the female deceased. The deceased female has been identified as an employee of the restaurant. The identity of the female will not be released at this time.

This matter remains under investigation and no foul play is suspected at this time.

Due to this being an ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time."

The woman who was found unresponsive inside the freezer has been identified only as a Manager for Arby's. The name has not been released.

Arby's has also released a statement on the death. Arby's Brand Reputation Manager, Corporate Communications, Laurel Sprague said:

"We are aware of the incident that took place at our franchised location in New Iberia, LA. The franchisee is cooperating fully with local authorities as they conduct their investigation. Due to this being an active investigation, we defer any further comment to the police department."

While all of these releases were happening, a second part to this story went viral online. Many social media users noticed that this same New Iberia Arby's location had job postings up the day after the body was discovered...

There were multiple versions of this posted across social media platforms. Some that featured a "crew member" job posting, and others with the "manager" posting. While there were no specific attributions to where these jobs were posted, some of the first photos from the scene indicate that these are probably real job postings...

Inside that photo, from the night the incident occurred, clearly shows the Arby's sign reads "Now Hiring". Which means those online job posting were probably there prior to the investigation starting. However, if you employ a corporate "Brand Reputation Manager", this is something that probably shouldn't happen.
