I ran across this impassioned prayer for the salvation of Shreveport-Bossier City, LA on TikTok and couldn't help but think that in a world where the most ridiculous things go viral, this is something that actually should be shared a million times.

Is living in Shreveport-Bossier really that bad?

Honestly, whether or not you enjoy living in Shreveport-Bossier City depends on who you ask. I love it here, but I have a solid foundation of friends, family, church, etc... But even I admit we have a lot of room for growth when it comes to our city leaders, infrastructure, economy, crime, education, etc... We've got some major problems that need addressing, but we've also got some great things here as well and that starts with the people and it's with people where our journey to growth will begin. Take a listen to the prayer posted by TikTok user @shacorria. She didn't say where she found the prayer, but it's powerful. According to commenters, the pastor is James McMenis from Word of God Ministries.

If this prayer touched you like it did me, I hope you'll add your voice to mine. I transcribed the video to make it even easier for you.

I pray for Shreveport, I pray for Bossier, I pray for the city that I was born in, that so many of us love, despite the crime and the murders that's happening here week after week. God, we pray that you would save our city. Save our city, Lord. Raise up leaders that have truth and that have compassion, that actually care about the well-being of its citizens and not their own agenda or their own future or their own gain. We pray God that you would do something in Shreveport as a model to all cities across the nation and the world, that if you could do it here, you could do it anywhere. Lord, we pray that you would raise up new leaders, spiritual, political, social leaders in this city, and Lord change this community. We ask in Jesus' name, by the power of your spirit.

Amen.
