President Trump has seen enough of people vandalizing statues around the country and now he is calling for a strict punishment if anyone is arrested for destroying them.

In a recent Tweet, Trump called for a ten-year sentence to be imposed on anyone found guilty of destroying monuments or statues within the country.

Several statues, many tied to the Confederacy, have been destroyed or defaced in recent protests.

We have seen many statues torn down, burned, or painted over and now the President of the United States wants those guilty of such acts to be punished severely.

President Trump cited that the harsh punishment should be imposed under the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act.

I ask, what do you think about the suggestion here? Is it too harsh or not harsh enough if someone is found guilty of destroying historical statues in the country? You can comment below.

Here's the President's Tweet in regards to the punishment.
