This year, the Red River Revel is running on a modified schedule: after a short break, it will open again from Thursday, October 2nd, and run through the final day on Sunday, October 5th, 2025.

The festival has officially become a major culinary player, especially with the exciting Superior Margarita collaboration, which proves this event is about more than just music and paintings. It's a true feast celebrating the incredible local vendors who pour their hearts and souls into crafting the best festival food.

The Dish That Stopped Me

From juicy turkey legs to surprisingly delicious vegan nachos, I tried so much food that I honestly lost count. But as I wandered the plaza, my focus shifted. There was one dish I kept seeing, and its incredible smell was impossible to ignore. I had to track down the vendor serving up this local legend.

The champion of the entire festival? The Cajun Asian’s Crawfish Lafitte.

Why You Must Try the Crawfish Lafitte

This dish is not just a huge portion, he flavor is absolutely insane. The catfish is perfectly fried, and the crawfish sauce is so rich and decadent without being overpowering. Because it’s prepared when you order it, the plate is served piping hot, and trust me, you'll be too eager to inhale this deliciousness before you even find a table.

The Cajun Asian food truck claims this is one of their most popular dishes, and I can confirm: this is easily the best bite I had at the Revel.

Now that I've crowned a winner, what is your must-have, can't-miss dish at the Revel? Let me know in the comments.
