Ricky Saints Eyes WrestleMania 42 if NOLA Hosts WWE’s Big Event
It's been reported that WWE is planning their biggest show of the year, WrestleMania, which will next be hosted from Saints' hometown of New Orleans. After making headlines for his surprise debut for WWE, Louisiana's own Ricky Saints has made it clear if the 42nd edition of the biggest wrestling event in the world is NOLA-bound he'll be fighting his way onto the show.
Rumors have circulated for weeks now that WWE and the City of New Orleans have been in talks to host WrestleMania 42 from the city in 2026. Louisiana has a deep connection to the past of professional wrestling and already has experience in hosting the show, twice before WrestleMania was hosted from the Superdome in New Orleans.
During an interview in Busted Open After Dark, the recently debuted WWE NXT star Ricky Saints commented on the rumors that NOLA could be the city of choice, "If the rumor is true, that is my goal, to wrestle in the Superdome. That's all I want, and I'm going to make it happen."
A chance to wrestle on "The Grandest Stage of Them All" is something highly coveted by wrestlers, some spending their entire career at a shot at one, while others torch their entire professional relationship with the WWE over being denied a WrestleMania main event match.
It's clear Saints' has his sights aimed high, especially as Saints is currently assigned to WWE's NXT roster, their tertiary brand meant for developing younger talent and new stars. Typically NXT bouts are relegated to NXT branded shows, but on at least one occasion Rhea Ripley was active under the NXT roster when she defended the NXT Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36.
With WrestleMania 41 just a few months away that gives Ricky Saints a little over a year to make a name for himself, get called up to the main roster, then become a big enough star to earn a Mania match. Here's to hoping Louisiana's homegrown star will headline "The Showcase of Immortals."
