If there's one thing I love in this world, it's a big ole bowl of Gumbo... I might be in New Iberia this weekend.

For the 30th year, 20,000 gumbo-lovers are heading to New Iberia this weekend for the Gumbo World Championship Cookoff. The event, which is pretty much like something out of my dreams, features 76 gumbo-cooking teams competing for the top prize.

The best part? Anyone who plans to attend gets to try out every single taste of gumbo offered by all 76 teams. There’s no entry fee, and samples start at four bucks for non-seafood varieties, and five bucks for a seafood gumbo.

Gumbo servings on Sunday start at 11:00 AM and if you're lucky enough to make it, you’ll be able to try every kind of gumbo imaginable.

Roadtrip anyone?
