Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has a bone to pick with Beyonce.

Giuliani voiced his grievances on Fox & Friends Monday, including Beyonce putting her fist in the air as an homage to the "Black Power" salute, and that her back-up dancers all wore berets in the style of the Black Panthers.

"I think it was outrageous," said Giuliani, adding, "football, not Hollywood."

The ex-mayor saw the performance as an insult to law enforcement, and while acknowledging that there have been some negative incidents, police should be respected as protectors of the community. "I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us, and keep us alive," said Giuliani.

"And what we should be doing in the African-American community, and all communities, is build up respect for police officers. And focus on the fact that when something does go wrong, okay. We'll work on that," he added. "But the vast majority of police officers risk their lives to keep us safe."
