Sarah Hyland Keeps Busy Despite Ex-Boyfriend Drama

"Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland posted a positive message on her Instagram page, hours before the show's season premiere and a day after news came out that she had put out a restraining order against ex-boyfriend Matthew Prokop.

"Tonight's the night!!! Season 6 premiere of #modernfamily on abc 9/8c!!!! I can't believe I've been working with this show for almost 6 years!" she wrote. "I love these people with all of my heart and will never forget this blessing of a job ... Hope you all enjoy the new season!!"

Hyland, who plays Haley Dunphy on the hit ABC show, claims that Prokop was both physically and verbally abusive to her, as recently as August, during the last years of their relationship. She also says that he left her voicemails and messages after their breakup threatening her and her pet Maltipoo.

No charges have been filed, but Prokop will have to face a judge Oct. 10 where it will be determined if the restraining order, which prohibits him from going within 100 feet of Hyland and her dog or any contact with her, will be extended.

Prokop, also an actor, appeared in a "Modern Family" episode as Haley's date during the family's trip to Disneyland.
