That was a big parade. Not just for the Krewe of Highland, but in general...that was a BIG parade. Thousands of people lined neighborhood streets in Shreveport Sunday for the last of the big three Mardi Gras parades of the year in Shreveport-Bossier. It was time for the Krewe of Highland to roll, and the revelers were ready.

When the Krewe of Centaur or Krewe of Gemini roll in Shreveport, you expect to see rows and rows of people, for miles and miles, looking for throws. But when you think of the Krewe of Highland, you don't anticipate a crowd like that. However this weekend, that's exactly what you got.

The streets through the neighborhood route were packed, with revelers creeping into the paths of the floats. In some spots along the route, the crowd was a least a dozen rows deep.

It was a pretty smooth ride, with a constant flow of floats from start to finish, with no major slowdowns for accidents or breakdowns. The parade was packed with floats from various krewes, including the Krewe of Centaur making up a large chunk of the big floats, the Krewe of Elders rolling, the Krewe of Barkus & Meoux brought their Geek'd Con theme to the parade, the fantastic Krewe of Justinian were throwing, as well as many other local krewes.
