See Shreveport Residents Harrowing Encounter With a Shark
Three Beachgoers Were Seriously Injured in Back-to-back Shark Attacks Off Florida’s Gulf Coast on Friday June 7th.
Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson Jr. called it an “exceedingly rare” day after a 45-year-old woman was attacked by a shark and less than two hours later, two teenage girls were on another beach in Walton County when a shark bit them.
Elisabeth Foley, was the first shark attack victim. Foley has lost her left hand while suffering severe injuries to her midsection. Less than two hours after the first attack, teenager Lulu Gribbin, lost her left hand and right leg during the attack, while her friend McCray Faust suffered minor injuries to her foot. That is three shark attacks in under 2 hours. The beaches have since reopened with warnings, and authorities continue to monitor the shoreline for shark activity.
I Was at the Exact Beach That Elizabeth Foley Was at the Week Prior to the Shark Attack.
My friends and family were shocked to hear that we were at the exact spot and our hearts broke for the victims. "How far out were they for them not to see a shark coming at them?" I asked in a group text. "Were they so far out on the beach that they couldn't make it to shore in time?" We all kept asking questions and one of my friends went back to pull a picture to show that some of us were "far" in the water just like the shark attack victims were. That is when we saw IT. We didn't notice a shark or see a shark fin while we were in the water. No one noticed the creepy shadow until now. Could it be? Did we just have a near death experience with a shark we didn't see coming? I keep telling myself that it's just a creepy perfectly placed shadow, and that I would have noticed a shark coming my way, I tell myself this to keep from freaking out.
