Three historic Shreveport museums will close their doors for good at the end of February, 2017.  According to the Shreveport Times, the Spring Street Museum, the Shreveport Water Works museum, and the Shreveport Railroad Museum were scheduled to close on December 31st, 2016 - but were granted a bit of an extension.  This is thanks to awesome, community members known as "Friends Societies."  This group of like-minded individuals provided enough operating capitol to cover salaries for all employees, all utilities and operating costs, such as printing or postage, maintenance and repair of the building, grounds and equipment, and several other operating costs.

The reprieve is a short one.  If you wish to take advantage of this tiny window of opportunity, do so before February 28th.  That's when the properties return to the original owners.

Three amazing Shreveport gems that will likely disappear forever in just over a month.  Go see them while you can!
