If you have an online clothes shopping addiction, you may find yourself shopping at all the boutiques in Shreveport-Bossier instead of online shopping very soon. I never meant to be the one person who didn't support local, but when there were so many shirts that I could purchase for under $5 a piece, and they looked just as cute as the blouses at the local boutique to me.

Could Shreveport-Bossier Boutiques See a Surge in Business Soon?

China-founded e-commerce sites Temu and Shein have announced that they will raise their prices for all of their customers in America as soon as possible. Why are prices about to spike for us? We can blame the tariffs on all goods coming from China.

Even though Shein and Temu aren't owned by the same parent company, both companies issued what seem like identical price increase alerts. Both companies blamed “recent changes in global trade rules and tariffs” as the reason why their prices were going to increase. Shein and Temu will both increase their prices on April 25th. What is concerning for Americans is that nobody knows how much prices will increase. Will the prices be enough to deter us from shopping online?

The Shein statement said, "We’re doing everything we can to keep prices low and minimize the impact on you. Our team is working hard to improve your shopping experience and stay true to our mission: making fashion accessible for everyone."

How much would your Shein order have to increase for you to quit shopping online? Do you think that the price increases will make locals shop at our local Shreveport and Bossier boutiques? What boutiques in town do you love to shop at? Share your favorites in the comments.
