The violence in Shreveport continues. Thursday (7/28/22) afternoon, a video surfaced on social media that shows what appears to be an armed robbery involving a group of young people.

The video was caught on a doorbell security camera in the Cherokee Park neighborhood. In the video, you can see a group of 5 young people walking down the sidewalk seemingly minding their own business. A vehicle was stopped in the street blocking the driveway of the home, and the passenger exited the vehicle and began pointing what appears to be a gun at the group.

Several people in the group began running away, and one person threw what appears to be either a small cloth bag or a shirt on the ground. You can hear the young man in the video screaming "PLEASE GET IT!!" referring to the object thrown, followed by "PLEASE, DON'T KILL ME PLEASE!!".

The robber then, picked the object up off the ground and ran back to the passenger side of the car, before the car takes off down the street.

Local police say this incident was not reported, and thankfully nobody was injured or killed in the ambush-style robbery. The young person seemingly did the right thing by just giving up whatever he was carrying to the robber.
