Shreveport’s Halloween Hotspot: A Sneak Peek Inside Spirit Halloween’s Newest Costumes and Decor
The first days of the fall season are upon us in the Shreveport-Bossier area, signaled by the return of the pop-up Halloween superstore, Spirit Halloween. Known for turning empty stores into haunted havens, the chain is back with its costumes, decorations, animatronics, and even fursuits? This year, three locations have emerged from the underworld for the season. You can find a store in Bossier City at 3161 East Texas St. in Bossier City in the former Big Lots, and two in Shreveport: one at 1293 Shreveport Barksdale Highway, funny enough, it was also a Big Lots, and another at 7547 on Youree Drive.
What's New at Spirit Halloween for 2025?
This year's lineup has some unique new additions. A small section of political humor has been added to parody the controversy of tariffs in the last year or so. Of course, there's a good selection of some unique and genuinely terrifying animatronics, and be warned, they're motion-activated (don't ask how I learned that).
Spirit Halloween's New Costumes Offer Budget Fursuits
One surprising thing that has already caught a few people's eyes is the new line of furry costume accessories. If this is the first time you've heard of a Furry, real quick history lesson: it's like cosplaying but as animal characters. Spirit Halloween has always followed trends, so it's no surprise that with the rise and acceptance of furries online, the seasonal superstore would cash in.
Notorioulsy, a full furry suit, like the ones worn by cosplayers at Geek'd Con, costs lots of money. The selection of furry items at Spirit is much more affordable, all under $100 per piece. So to the furries of Shreveport-Bossier, if you're on a budget, Spirit Halloween's got you covered.
