Brawl Between Shreveport Inmates Lead to New Charges
I get that sometimes some folk's passions get the best of them, but that's no excuse for putting your hands on someone else. That being said, it takes a certain kind of stupid person to get in trouble for fighting while you're already in jail for fighting. I mean, did you think no one would notice?
According to the report from the ArkLaTex Homepage, the fight broke out between 2 inmates currently housed at the Shreveport City Jail was brutal. When all of the dust settled, one inmate had to be rushed to a local hospital for his injuries.
Reportedly, 35-year-old Andrew Adaway was in a holding cell with 73-year-old Bobbie Young (pictured above) on Friday, June 3rd. That's when the pair allegedly started brawling in the lockup. That fight resulted in a trip to the hospital for Young, and a new set of charges for Adaway (pictured below).
Young, who was being held on drugs and firearm charges. was taken to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport where he was listed in serious condition. According to the report, he is expect to recover. Adaway, on the other hand, was reportedly charged with simple assault and entering hours before the fight allegedly took place. Now, he's looking at an additional charge of aggravated second-degree battery. He is now being held in the Caddo Correctional Center on a $25,000 bond where he will hopefully get along better with his fellow inmates.
