Shreveport Officer Kills Suspect
A man suspected in a series of crimes is shot and killed by a Shreveport police officer.
The incident began on North Market at a video poker business where a man was attacked and stabbed. That victim's car was allegedly stolen.
According to authorities, the suspect fled to Sam’s Town casino in the stolen car. When the suspect was approached by an officer, he tried to grab the officer's gun. That officer then shot the suspect who later died at a local hospital.
The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office has named the shooting victim as 35-year-old Marcus Boles of Shreveport. He was identified through fingerprint comparison.
The victim of the stabbing on North Market is going to be ok. The officer was not injured.
Caddo Coroner Todd Thoma tells KEEL News Boles has "both sharp force wounds and a gunshot wound."
