The Shreveport Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing Bureau is sponsoring a “Back to School” Extravaganza at the Police Complex tomorrow.

The event is a unique opportunity tailored to facilitate positive interactions between police officers and children heading back to school next week. Officers will conduct programs for the kids regarding personal safety as well as a host of other topics intended to empower our children and help them kick off the new school year on a positive note. Food, fun and games will all be provided at no charge.

The event will be held on the front lawn of the Shreveport Police Complex located at 1234 Texas Avenue and will run from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011. The City of Shreveport’s Department of Community Development and the Calvary Baptist Church are partnering with the police department to make this event possible. For further information, please call the Shreveport Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing Bureau at 318-673-6950.
