Shreveport Police held a DWI checkpoint Friday, April 14th, 2023, in the 300 block of N. Market St. (Northbound Lanes). The checkpoint began at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14th, 2023, and ran until 3:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15th, 2023.

Shreveport Police officers screened 420 vehicles, resulting in 5 misdemeanor arrests for DWI. In addition, 81 citations were issued. Listed below are the arrests at the checkpoint.

The checkpoint was part of a collaborative effort between multiple agencies (Louisiana State Police and Caddo Sheriff) to emphasize our commitment to making the streets of our city safe for everyone. We would like to thank all those agencies who participated.

Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission as part of the continuing effort to help curb the number of impaired drivers who take to the streets each year in our community.
