Hustler Hollywood is moving full-steam ahead to open an 'adult-themed' retail store in the location previously occupied by IHop on Financial Plaza right on 1-20 in west Shreveport. Shreveport residents, elected officials, and pastors from the area were present at the work session, and several spoke to the council to address their concerns.

Former State Senator John Milkovich told the Council,

"Our name is Shreveport, not Sleezeport." He adds "We know Hustler for years has been merchandizing women as objects for their own profit."

A local Mom, Mandy Gordon told the Council she strongly objects to this business opening in Shreveport. She says you can look on the Hustler Hollywood website and see the kinds of items they sell. She says they list things like "vibrators, dildos, strap-ons, anal, bondage, enhancers, lube and more." I will list other products from the Hustler Hollywood website: "Barely Legal Teen Box, Loverboy, my best friends dad." She says this is not the kind of business we need in Shreveport.

Stephanie McNeely, the mother of 3 daughters, ages 13, 10 and 3. She's the Children's Pastor at Shreveport Community Church. She says the "Always Horny Schoolgirl Masturbater" is a featured product on the business's website. She is also concerned about the clientele this business will attract.

Reverend Denny Duron Jr. says this group has awakened the west side of Shreveport and will be active in elections and will working to fight these kinds of businesses before they open in our part of town.  He says this is a travesty. But he says "prayer is still more powerful than evil, and we will pray this evil away."
