Do you feel that shift in the atmosphere? It is almost time for our annual Shreveport escape. Road trip season is right around the corner, so we all get to visit our favorite beaver, Buc-ee for the best snacks.

Louisiana is Preparing For Its First Buc-ee's

What started as a gas station on steroids has become one of the South's biggest landmarks and might we say destinations? Louisianians have been passed up multiple times for our very own Buc-ee's. Louisiana will be the 10th state to finally have a Buc-ee's. Buc-ee's currently has operations in 9 states: Texas (the founding state), Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Ruston, Louisiana, will be the first location in the bayou state.

There Is a Wait For the Bayou State's First Buc-ee's

The Ruston Buc-ee's project has experienced multiple delays. At first, we had all hoped for the Buc-ee's project to kick off in 2023, however, there were other factors that no one anticipated. Did you know that roads are being widened, and there is a replacement happening on a bridge? There is no doubt that there are major changes coming to Ruston. According to KEEL News, all the delays mean that the anticipated opening date is closer to mid-2026.

Fortunately, there are a few Buc-ee's in the direct path of several of our road trips as we escape Shreveport. Heading to the beach? You can't miss the Beach Express stop, you can make a quick drive to the Terrell, Texas location, too. We are all unashamed of visiting Buc-ee's just for the snacks, right? So why don't we focus on the best snacks that we can get on our next road trip?
