Shots rang out on Monday (11/22/21) afternoon in Shreveport's MLK neighborhood, and a man in his 60s was hit. Shreveport Police are currently investigating this tragic shooting. The victim was reportedly standing in his front yard when he was struck in the head by a bullet.

The victim was named by the Caddo Coroner as 61 year old Gary Lee. After Lee was shot in the head around 12:50pm, he was transported to the emergency room of Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he died from his injury at 1:28 p.m. Police are still currently investigating this shooting. Anyone with any information is being urged to call Shreveport Police.

This marks up the number of Shreveport Homicides for the 2021 year to 81. Creeping dangerously toward the city's most violent year,1993, which saw 86 homicides.

Mr. Lee was positively identified through fingerprint comparison. An autopsy was ordered.
