Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Shreveport is the worst at keeping secrets?

You Have Probably Heard of Ghost Ramen Before.

The illusive kitchen isn't where you'd expect it to be. It's not a pop-up kitchen that runs out of a trailer. I can't be the only one who assumed that this place would run out of a food trailer right? This ghost kitchen runs out of a courtyard behind a dive bar in downtown Shreveport.

You Have to Walk Through Stray Cat and Make Your Way to the Courtyard to Find This Spot.

When I first went my friend Debbie took me and I remember asking her "Are you taking me to a back alley? Where are we going? There is no way there is a restaurant back here." Thank God I was wrong. It was then, that I fell in love with two men who were wearing aprons.

Jon Ortiz and Dylan Teekell Were Entertaining People and Cooking Up a Storm.

No employees, just two dudes wearing aprons. I say two dudes, my bad two chefs who make their labor of love look like a walk in the park. They only take 10 orders at a time and the wait is worth it. The only advice I have is to plan to hang out for a couple of hours, this isn't a place to grab a bite to eat and be in and out in 30 minutes. Ghost Ramen is a whole dang savory experience.

The Menu is Small and Not Simple.

If your tastebuds like things simple, this pop-up restaurant is not for you, and simply put, you're holding up the line. When I went we ordered the French Onion, Yakamein, Wings, and the delectable Gyoza aka dumplings. Do you want noodles, wings, or dumplings? My advice is to order one of everything because the party in your mouth will be next level.

I Felt Like Anthony Bordain While Eating at Ghost Ramen.

There I was in the courtyard of a dive bar eating some of the best ramen and dumplings I have ever had and it felt like I was let in on a huge secret. Remember when you'd watch Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and you could savor what he was eating even though you were thousands of miles away from the spot he was trying? Ghost Ramen transports you to somewhere you've never been, your tastebuds transport you and of course, your courtyard view is unlike anything else you've experienced in Shreveport.
