Social Media Threat At Shreveport School Results In Teen Arrested

That dramatic day resulted in the arrest of twenty three individuals over a three day period, but there was an up side to the situation.

There Was A Positive Side To This One

Out of necessity, and as a response to the violence, the now, nationally recognized "Dads On Duty" was born and has since expanded to other states.  So impressed with the "Dads on Duty" concept, Will Smith sent the entire school to see his movie, "King Richard", for which he just won an Oscar, at the now eternally infamous, "Will Slapped Chris Rock" Academy Awards show.

Then, just a couple of months ago, in January of 2022, there was an alleged rape of a student at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy in Shreveport.

And Here We Go Again

Now, again, another Shreveport High School is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Department, Caddo detectives have arrested a teen following their investigation into a social media threat against a high school, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The investigation began on Wednesday, March 30, when the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office was notified of an online social media post threatening a shooting at Woodlawn High School.

Detectives determined that there was no viable threat, however a 15-year-old student was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.

The teen was booked into Caddo Juvenile Detention Center at about 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 31.

Further investigation is ongoing to determine if there is more than one person responsible.
