There is no one in my circle of friends who would ever think about doing this. But I am sorry to say we have way too many people in our community who are inconsiderate and just plain pigs.
My friends, Scott and Melissa Harville went to walk in Betty Virginia Park this past weekend and found someone's rubbish sitting out on one of the picnic tables.
This trash included crawfish heads, corn cobs, potatoes and a Hennessy bottle on the ground. As you can see in the photo, the trash can is just 10 feet away.

The Harville's and another park visitor cleaned up the mess from this slob.
I really wish there was a way to catch these people. Because of people like this, we can't have nice things.
This post on social media generated dozens of comments including this:

Should be fined for littering if the suspect could be found! HA! Trash follows trashy people!

And this:

If you can bring a boil to go you can damn well walk to the trash can. So lazy it’s un real.

I've also learned that Susan Bayliss helped the Harville's clean up the mess and I want to thank them all for stepping up to clean one of our city's most cherished jewels.
Could we put cameras in our parks and cite folks for bad behavior? Sure, it could be done. But it would come with a cost and some sort of process of tracking these folks.

I would just hope people can learn to be more considerate of others and not be pigs in our public spaces. I don't think that's too much to ask.
