‘SpongeBob’ Does ‘Mad Men’ in New Jon Hamm Special Trailer
Whether or not Don Draper’s peace proved everlasting, Mad Men star Jon Hamm is getting another shot at the role … sort of. The first clips of a new SpongeBob Squarepants special go full Sterling-Cooper with Hamm voicing “Don Grouper,” an underwater ad man.
Having first announced the guest spot in 2015, Nickelodeon is finally preparing to debut half-hour special Goodbye, Krabby Patty? on February 20 at 7:00 P.M. As seen in the Mad Men-esque parody below (via EW), Hamm’s role is that of a charismatic head ad executive for Grouper, Goby & Koi, tasked with helping Mr. Krabs launch his line of frozen Krabby Patties.
And a full trailer:
Here’s now Nickelodeon describes the character:
Don Grouper – a charismatic head ad executive of the ad agency Grouper, Goby & Koi. His sharp mind and devastating charm make him an irresistible force. When Don’s in the room everyone laps up his words like overpriced organic honey.
Hamm hasn’t yet picked up a fulltime gig since Mad Men’s end (though Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and a Last Man on Earth cameo offer close seconds), so enjoy the SpongeBob gag above, and stay tuned for the latest.
