The name Moffitt has long been synonymous with selling cars in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.  Now, that name recognition has gone quite a bit further.

Time Magazine has named Susan Moffitt of Moffit Volkswagen/Mazda/Audi/Porsche "Dealer of the Year."  This esteemed recognition isn't easy to come by.  Over 17,000 franchised dealers from across the country were dwindled down to just 49 selected nominees.  These 49 individuals are scrutinized and judged until only one remains.

The dealer picked for this honor must be more than very successful in the car business, they must also show a great deal of effort when it comes to giving back to their community.

As exclusive sponsor of the TIME Dealer of the Year Award, Ally (bank) will give $10,000 to the charity of Moffitt's choice. Ally also will donate $5,000 to each of the nonprofit organizations selected by the four finalists and Will Green, president of the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association, who nominated Moffitt for the award.

The company was founded by Susan's father Fred in 1964. She would join her father  in the car business some 20 years later after earning degrees in business administration and finance at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La.  Susan is following in her father's famous footsteps.  Along with numerous Louisiana dealer awards he won - in 2006, Fred was a recipient of the Time Magazine "Quality Dealer Award."
