Symptoms of the Brain Eating Amoeba are Scary

I am sure you have seen the news lately about the brain eating amoeba that was found in the Bossier City water supply. Now there are a few things to know to be prepared just in case you come into contact with this brain eating amoeba. According to Mayo Clinic, signs and symptoms will start to show within 2 to 15 days.

• A change in the sense of smell or taste
• Fever
• Sudden, severe headache
• Stiff neck
• Sensitivity to light
• Nausea and vomiting
• Confusion
• Loss of balance
• Sleepiness
• Seizures
• Hallucinations

The most terrifying part about this is that symptoms can progress rapidly and death is typical within a week. That is super frightening.
