Just yesterday some set photos landed online that maybe-possibly gave us our first look at something being filmed for Captain Marvel — most likely a post-credits tease attached to one of the upcoming Avengers sequels. As production gears up for a February start, today brings another cool photo from the highly-anticipated Marvel film, this time featuring Brie Larson herself.

Brie Larson’s first big solo outing in the MCU is undergoing a little shake-up behind the scenes. Marvel has reportedly hired a new screenwriter for Captain Marvel, the ’90s-set superhero film that will introduce audiences to the eponymous hero. And they could do a lot worse than a scribe whose credits include upcoming projects like the Tomb Raider reboot starring Alicia Vikander, as well as the all-female DC villains team-up Gotham City Sirens.

I sure hope Brie Larson has a pair of denim overalls and “Jagged Little Pill” on CD because Captain Marvel is headed to the ‘90s.

Brie Larson’s The Glass Castle definitely looks like one of those awards-bait family drama movies that actors join up with when they really, really want to win an Oscar. But Larson has already won an Oscar, and keep in mind that this is from Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Short Term 12, the movie that effectively launched Larson’s leap to stardom.

Brie Larson is currently scheduled to play two female superstars in the near future: the first is actual superhero Captain Marvel, in Marvel’s first-ever female-led superhero movie, and the second, announced today, is Victoria Woodhull, the first-ever female candidate for U.S. President and your new favorite historical person.

This island may be big enough for Kong and a bunch of other creatures, but it ain’t big enough to fit all these pesky humans too. The new international trailer for Kong: Skull Island gives us more flames, more ape, and introduces a bunch of new creatures, each one huger than the last.

From one superhero captain to another (potential) superhero captain.

Brie Larson is reportedly the frontrunner to play Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel, the studio’s first solo female superhero movie — which is kind of a big deal for a lot of fans. The Oscar-winning star of Room is a great choice for the part, but back in 2015, she had no idea who Captain Marvel was. That’s probably changed quite a bit since this interview took place, but it’s still pretty delightful to see her reaction nonetheless.

By now you’re well-aware of the big twist on last week’s episode of Game of Thrones — thanks to tabloid reports and transparent deflections and flat-out lies from cast and crew alike, Jon Snow’s revival was probably the worst-kept secret in recent TV history. Still, fans had to sit through two of the most painful hours of the series before we finally got to what we all knew was coming. It’s okay, SNL feels your pain.
