There is a fine line between a place so terrible that it serves as a deterrent to a life of crime and an inhumane hole we throw people in to forget about them.
Just as we are starting to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic in Louisiana (please wear your mask, we're not completely out yet), it looks like another statewide health issue is emerging.
What will the state of Louisiana do with the staggering numbers of suicide? Keep making cuts to the programs that are essential to suicide prevention? We sure hope not.
