What was happening in the Shreveport area 10 years ago? It was the height of Shreveport's run as "Hollywood of the South", where movie and TV productions were happening all over the place.
You know who’s having quite the August? Josh Brolin is having quite the August. The past few weeks have brought us no fewer than three decent-sized stories featuring Brolin’s work, including our first look at his character in Deadpool 2, the news that he had been cut from George Clooney’s upcoming Suburbicon, and, perhaps my most favorite, the fact that James Cameron cussed him out for turning down a role in Avatar 2. Some actors are lucky if they have a single movie make news headlines in a month; Brolin has made the rounds with three fun stories from three entirely separate franchises.
Josh Brolin is the type of guy who’s not easily persuaded. If you invite him to brunch and he doesn’t want to go, just drop it. If you offer him a Coke when he says he’s not thirsty, just walk away, the man isn’t thirsty! And if you want him to star in your sequel about blue aliens and he turns you down, rest your case. You’re not going to change his mind, even if you’re James Cameron.
When it comes to natural disaster movies, the bigger, the better. San Andreas was delightful in its boorish stupidity, The Perfect Storm is a stone-cold classic, and don’t even get me started on how excited I am for Geostorm. Man against nature is the oldest plot in history, which is why it’s about darn time we saw Josh Brolin play a firefighter.
Josh Brolin’s Cable is, at this point, the most anticipated part of Deadpool 2, and as we have seen, he’s very game to get to get into full time-traveling cyborg warrior shape. He’s also game to have some weird-looking blue molds taken of his face, apparently, as his latest Instagram tease of his characters shows.
We’ve known for some time now that Fox’s plans for the, uh, edgier corner of the X-Men movie universe include Deadpool 2 and X-Force, with the former setting up the latter by way of introducing key characters Cable (Josh Brolin) and Domino (Atlanta’s Zazie Beetz). According to a new rumor, the Merc With a Mouth’s highly-anticipated sequel could lay some additional groundwork, as Fox may be looking to cast a few more X-Force members in Deadpool 2. Potential spoilers ahead!
