An inmate in St. Landry Parish has died after assisting the Sheriff's Department with a training exercise.

The system, set to roll out this week, will reportedly give citizens the option to "pay fines associated with the citation or summons," instead of having to physically go to the courthouse.

The child's mother was reportedly told by administrators that the mark was left after the teacher's mouth accidentally hit his face.
