We won’t expect Twin Peaks on Showtime’s schedule next year, but at least one other drama will get a surprise return. The Jim Carrey-produced standup series I’m Dying Up Here will live another day, now renewed for Season 2

SNL may be notably bereft of Jay Pharoah, but the comedian is about to get White Famous with Jamie Foxx. Showtime has set an October premiere date with a first full trailer for the new meta-comedy of Foxx’s rise to fame.

We’ve all naturally wanted to see the girls of Girls cross over with Sherlock, and Showtime’s Patrick Melrose might be our best bet. Allison Williams has joined the Benedict Cumberbatch miniseries cast in a role that’s practically Marnie rearranged.

It was around the time that SNL favorites Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah confirmed new Showtime series, that we learned the pair hadn’t been invited back for Season 42. In Pharoah’s case, at least, the Jamie Foxx-produced White Famous was picked up to series, though Showtime now confirms Taran Killam’s dating scene comedy Mating wasn’t so fortunate.

The good news keeps rolling out at Showtime after Twin Peaks finally got its 2017 premiere date. Not only is The Affair renewed for Season 4 weeks ahead of its finale, but so too has Jamie Foxx and SNL alum Jay Pharoah’s White Famous comedy been picked up to series.

Homeland fans with Showtime subscriptions have likely checked out the Season 6 premiere, in which a certain character’s fate is rather quickly revealed. Now, ahead of the official premiere, showrunners and stars explain why [SPOILER] is still kicking, and what it means for the series overall.

Twin Peaks creator David Lynch’s famed secrecy isn’t the only reason Showtime won’t confirm a date for its 2017 revival, as reports suggested Lynch wasn’t required to set one. Recent rumors suggested Showtime might have something to display at Sundance, but now an intriguing tidbit could place an official premiere closer to April or May.

We still don’t exactly know when in 2017 the new Twin Peaks will premiere, let alone when to expect a possible trailer or photos, but attendees of this year’s Sundance Film Festival may get a little of that fine coffee. Conversations are apparently taking place for Twin Peaks to have a presence at the event later on in January.

We’re all going to let the expeletives fly on Election Night 2016, regardless of the outcome, and no one is more excited than Stephen Colbert.
