Did you know there was a raffle every year in Shreveport, LA to reserve spots on E. Kings Highway by the Duck Pond for the Krewe of Gemini and Centaur Mardi Gras parades?

These improvements allow the Parish to continue to provide quality recreational opportunities and the ability to enjoy our Parish’s natural assets in a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

July 4th will be filled with fireworks, barbecues, and, for the lucky few that own or live near a pool, a nice cooling swim to knock the temperature down a few notches. Luckily for Shreveport residents, Shreveport Parks And Recreation has decided to open up one of its city run pools on Independence Day to help families beat the heat.

Watch the Cowboys and Saints battle it out Sunday on a giant screen in the Red River Entertainment District in downtown Shreveport.

Shreveport Parks and Recreation, affectionately known as SPAR, is always active bringing the latest and greatest to Shreveport. Their latest endeavor is to ensure the pantry is stocked at the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.

Now that the dust has settled and the last present has been unwrapped, it's time to find something new to do with the kids! Check out the Shreveport Parks and Recreation's Free Fridays Forever Concert this Friday, December 27th in Shreveport's Red River Entertainment District featuring Caddo Middle Magnet 8th grader Victoria Wells!

SPAR (Shreveport Parks and Recreation) has teamed up with the Bilberry Community Center Park Advisory Board for the 17th Annual Merry Berry Christmas Festival at Bilberry Park Community Center in Shreveport kicking off Friday, December 6th!
