The announcement came as a huge shock to many in the community.

The retailer is closing up to 450 locations, including all of it's Canadian stores

An iconic Acadiana store in the city of Rayne will be closing its doors soon.

Half of the company's Louisiana locations are scheduled to close including locations in Lafayette and Lake Charles.

Sears in Longview is expected to close in February 2019.

Some stores have already started shutting down, and experts expect the announcement concerning the rest of the closures inside of a week.
