Mean Girls is finally, finally coming to Broadway. Rumors of a musical have abounded for years, and now Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels are bringing it to us as early as next spring. That’s so — well, you know.
SNL will have missed out on a lifetime of news by the time Season 43 premieres this fall, but Weekend Update is doing its best to catch up. And who better to sum things up than beloved former anchor Tina Fey, who drops by to stress-eat over the weekend’s events, and scream into some cake?
You can say this for Lindsay Lohan: Homegirl just does not quit. The sometime-actress, who hasn’t appeared in a film since Gus Van Sant’s 2013 quasi-softcore-thriller The Canyons (was it really only three years ago?), has tried her hand at a few failed enterprises in the last few years, including her recent baffling effort to create a new, vaguely exotic accent. But there’s one project Lohan hasn’t abandoned. Like Gretchen Wieners desperately clinging to “fetch,” Lohan is hellbent on making Mean Girls 2 happen — by force, if necessary.
If you’re a fan of Ronda Rousey, then you’re undoubtedly familiar with her “Do Nothing Bitches” speech from an interview the MMA fighter gave that’s collected over 3 million hits on YouTube and generated a clothing line. Rousey’s whole DNB thing is so popular that it inspired Sisters scribe Paula Pell to write an entire film based on it, with Tina Fey set to co-star with Rousey in what could be the most delightful odd-coupling in years.
