Texas Juvenile Detention Center Investigated for Sexual Misconduct
A juvenile correction facility in Texas has found itself in the cross-hairs of a sexual misconduct investigation involving at least 4 former employees. Back in July, Gainesville State School correctional officer Samuel Lee Wright was convicted (and sentenced to 10 years) for having "improper sexual activity" with some of the teens in the schools custody. Now, 2 more correctional officers associated with the school have been arrested. Alicia Adams and Samantha Kranick were both taken into custody for allegedly having sex with some teens in custody, and another officer is expected to be arrested in connection with the case.
The state has vowed to bring an end to this type of behavior by instituting a "zero tolerance" policy when it comes to abuse of any kind. To further that goal, more than 9,000 cameras have been installed in the agencies facilities across the state. Officials say that these latest arrests have resulted from this measure.
