Texas Rangers Opening Day Means New Concession Stand Foods
As the Texas Rangers begin the 2018 season, Globe Life Park is hoping to hit a few home runs of their own with a new lineup of ballpark food.
Baseball season to me is so incredibly nostalgic. I spent a lot of time at ball fields growing up between my two brothers playing and my obsession with softball. I love the sound of the crack of a bat or a runner sliding into home. I love the smell of fresh cut grass and of course, whatever is cooking on the grill at the concession stand.
Can we bottle that goodness?
Today is Opening Day for Major League Baseball and while teams are working off the rust of the offseason, I'll be heading straight to the concession stand. Globe Life Park, the home of the Texas Rangers, is known for making some pretty spectacular and unique food items that could rival the State Fair of Texas. 2018 is no different.
This year, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, there are several new dishes to try.
Lay's Home Plate Chicken Sandwich - Lay's potato chip crusted chicken breast that's been fried, served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and spicy mayo.
The Triple B - A sandwich loaded with B's... bacon, brisket and bologna. Served on a bun with Sweet Baby Rae's BBQ sauce.
Cheetos Jalapeno Bacon Dog - Just like it sounds. A bacon-wrapped hot dog smothered in Cheetos cheese, topped with jalapenos and crispy Cheetos.
The Dilly Dog - Think of a hot dog inside of a hollowed-out pickle. That concoction is battered and fried like a corn dog.
7th Inning Cinnamon Roll - A classic iced cinnamon roll that's been battered and deep fried. They top this baby with raspberry and chocolate sauce.
Rold Gold Waffle Cone - A waffle cone made with Rold Gold pretzels, served with a scoop of your favorite ice cream.
