I love stumbling across things that happened years ago that are cool yet I never knew happened. So it's new to me.

I was perusing the internet yesterday for some information on zydeco music when I stumbled across a Sesame Street episode that highlighted our Louisiana music.

As always with Sesame Street programming, the effort is made to teach kids a little history about the music. You'll see in the video below, they did a pretty good job (sans the forced accent and western attire).

I think the likes of Chubby Carrier and Geno Delafose would be proud.

You can actually find this song on a Sesame Street album that was put out in 1998 entitled "Sesame Street: Elmo's Lowdown Hoedown."
