Maybe we have never realized just how unique our state and lifestyle truly is.

But, those who have just recently moved here, or have only visited our beautiful state, quickly realize that our way of life isn't like they've seen anywhere else.

It's true. We dance to a different drummer, but that's what makes life here so unique. It's what sets us apart from all the rest and we wouldn't want it any other way.

Those new to Louisiana will normally take a couple of years to get acquainted with our way of doing things. They have to adjust to all the sights, sounds, smells and the ambience that is Louisiana.

There Are Some Who Have No Idea What Life In Louisiana Is Like

However, those that have never even visited often times think of our lifestyle as weird. Most think that we have to wade in knee-deep water on our way to work or school. We all know that only happens a couple times a year.

Worse yet, they often have preconceived notions of what they "think" life is like here, and until proven otherwise, they feel that we just aren't quite right.

It's The Little Things That Others Think Are Weird That We Love Best

Little do they know that it's those unique things that we are most proud of!  Our swamps, the mosquitoes, nutria rats, and Spanish moss are what paint the most vivid pictures of Louisiana, but those living in North Dakota have never seen anything like them.
