About 5 years ago, Shreveport-Bossier City's own ABA basketball team left for Kentucky.  The 66-0, 2 time National Champion Mavericks were an amazing team.  They knocked out every single obstacle in the way to glory during their incredible 2 seasons.

When they left their home at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum for the Bluegrass State, they also left the ABA league behind.  According to the Shreveport Times, that's when the team joined the Premier Basketball League.  The report also states that former Maverick coach Steve Tucker has been in talks with Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins and other city officials about bringing the team back home.

There would be a few changes, starting with where the Mavericks call home.  Hirsch is now the home of the Mudbugs, and our beloved hometown hockey team won't be giving up their digs.  Secondly, the Mavs will be playing in 2 brand organizations:  The NBA's "G" League (sponsored by Gatorade), and The Basketball League (TBL).

The particulars of this deal (including timetables, locations, or if this is even going to happen) have not been released at this time, but I'm kind of excited about this.  If Shreveport / Bossier gets behind this it could absolutely work and be awesome!
