Shreveport has the third highest population of any Louisiana city, which is confusing to many because there's one major restaurant chain that alludes to the city, despite 11 other cities in the Bayou State having their own.

Shreveport is full of great local places to eat, but sometimes we love the ease and familiarity of our favorite restaurant chains, especially when it comes to the southern charm of Texas Roadhouse.

Shreveport and New Orleans are the only Louisiana cities out of the 10 biggest cities in the state without a Texas Roadhouse location.

Texas Roadhouse in Shreveport: Will It Ever Happen?

Understandably, Shreveport might not have its own Texas Roadhouse location because there's one right across the Red River in Bossier City, but if you've ever been to the Bossier City location on a day ending in the letter "Y" you've probably wished you could step outside and call to see if the another location has seating available, because the wait is longer than your stomach can handle.

Of course, you could just find somewhere else to eat if the wait is too long, but what if you've been planning to prank your friend by telling the waiter it's their birthday so they have to do the dance and song? Exactly, nowhere else can capture that moment quite like Texas Roadhouse.

Ruston Gets Roadhouse First

On top of the constant issues that come with a packed parking lot and long wait times, the I-20 construction that continues to block exits and gum up traffic, getting to the Bossier City location can be a little more than difficult.

The people of Shreveport, and Bossier City, are probably more than a little upset that the long wait times aren't going away anytime soon, as Ruston's new Texas Roadhouse location is getting closer to opening.
