There’s a New Richest Person on Earth

For many years Bill Gates was the richest person on earth slipping behind someone else only a time or two but in 2018 he finds himself at the #2 spot again. Let's not feel bad for Mr Gates, the owner and founder of Microsoft is still worth $92.9 Billion... We think he'll be ok.

But who does that mean has taken the top spot? After a record breaking year with profits up 59% Jeff Bizos is the new richest person on earth. The founder of Amazon is worth just over $134.1 Billion, which means he's buying lunch! In total Forbes Magazine reports that there's 2,208 billionaires on earth holding a combined total of $9.1 Trillion up 18% from last year.

Other people making top ranks on the list includes France’s Bernard Arnault founder of LVMH worth $84.4 Billion and China's Ma Huateng CEO of Tencent’s WeChat worth $43.9 Billion. And here I was thinking I was doing good because I paid all my bills this month on time and went out to dinner a few times...
