This Weeks #SUPPORTLOCAL Charity is Port City Cat Rescue

Every Monday we will spotlight a different local charity on the Morning Madhouse with the idea of "Making Today A Better Day" by starting here at home.

This week we recognize Port City Cat Rescue!

The Port City Cat Rescue is a local non-kill shelter located at 1033 Jordan Street in Shreveport, Louisiana. They take in cats from high kill shelters in our area and in East Texas.

I got the chance to go to the shelter and play with some of the cats. Check out the video above to see the fun I had!  At the time the video was created all of the cats featured in the video were available for adoption.  If one catches your eye or captures your heart, you may want to contact Port City Rescue to make sure the cat is still available for adoption.  If the cat is not available for adoption, they are sure to have many others you will want to add to your family.

Since Port City Rescue is a no kill shelter, they do not receive government funding. They run solely on donations and the adoption fees. Their third annual fundraiser appropriately named, Catsino Royale, is coming up soon. It will be held at the Flying Pig BBQ on Saturday, April 28 at 6:30 PM - 9 PM. There will be food, silent auction, raffles, games and more information about tickets sales will come out as we get closer to the event. Click here to find more info.
