UBER Comes To The SBC

It's an office Christmas party miracle in the making!   Allowing Uber to operate within city limits is on the agenda for Shreveport City Council' Public Safety Committee meeting later today!  If the ordinance passes, it could mean a much safer holiday party season in a town where that could be so much fun!

What could be better than a safe alternative to drinking and driving, with the added benefit of helping everyday residents in the SBC make some extra cash?  I know that traditionally the taxi companies are no bueno with the concept of citizen-powered public transport, but surely there's room for both.  As streamlined as the taxi ordering process has become, how do you top the ease of accessibility of Uber's interface?   It's much easier than hailing a cab, you can find out exactly who your driver is and what they are driving.  And, as Carter pointed out on the show this morning, it's much easier to order an Uber with the app than call for a cab in a loud bar/festival/concert.
