October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Join K945 this Saturday, October 19th from 8am-10am at LSUS for the Up With Downs 11th Annual Buddy Walk!

The walk is a mile long, so come on and have some fun! Watch the video and get inspired! You can sign up as an individual or as a team. Registration is at 9am with the walk starting at 10am. There's going to be tons of stuff for kids to do including space walks, face painting and more! There will also be live music from the Matthew Davidson Band!

The Buddy Walk promotes acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome and raises funds both locally and nationally for education, research and advocacy programs. There are over 250 Buddy Walks scheduled nationally this year, so join in the fun and let's make America knows Shreveport/Bossier supports those and their families with Down Syndrome!

Here's the scoop from the Buddy Walk's event page on Facebook:

This event raises funds to promote awareness for all individuals with Down syndrome. In addition, funds raised for our Buddy Walk through Up With Downs will be used to help pay for “Precious Gifts” kits for new parents, advocacy training, books and materials for families, for our annual social gatherings, and a portion goes to our National Down Syndrome Society. We are striving to continue to add additional resources for our families this year. We would love to speak with you in more detail about ways you can help to make those big plans come true if you have additional questions.

Registration is at 9am
Walk is at 10am

You can start by pre-registering on our first giving site and set your child up a fundraising page in the process. The link is:
