Shreveport Police have given a more detailed account of the murder of Michael Grace in Shreveport this morning. According to a statement from SPD, a suspect has been identified and another person has been arrested in connection to the slaying.

The incident happened outside of the 3 bar cluster of Round Bar, The Cub, and Tasha's Tavern on Youree Drive just after 2 am. Shreveport Police arrived on the scene and quickly began their investigation.

According to police, with the help of witness statements and surveillance footage, William Sirman was identified as "the person they believed responsible" for Grace's murder. Police then began their search for the suspect.

Hours later, just after 9:45 am, the body of a man killed in a motorcycle accident was found in a ditch near the intersection of Kings Highway & Creswell Avenue. After an investigation into the wreck, it was determined that the man killed in the wreck was William Sirman, the man believed to be responsible for the murder of Grace.

According to Investigators, surveillance footage showed the suspect riding his motorcycle into the intersection at a very high rate of speed just after 2:05 a.m. He was unable to navigate the curve and left the roadway and came to rest in the drainage ditch. Based on evidence collected, detectives believe that Sirman lost control of his motorcycle while fleeing the scene of the homicide.

During the course of the investigation, Jason Brook was questioned and arrested by police. Investigators allege that Brook had direct knowledge of the crime and failed to report it. He was arrested and charged on one count of failure to report a felony.

At this time, no cause of death has been announced and police are still digging into what led to the murder.

Michael Grace was a Shreveport businessman and owner of Ace Outdoor Advertising.
